What if the “Color Barrier” were never broken by Jackie Robinson or any other African-American? Would there have been a Hank AAron? What if Kenny Washington Jr. and Woody Strode would not have integrated the NFL? Would stars like Jim Brown, Emitt Smith ,Gail Sayers or Walter Payton be NFL Hall of Famers? Also, Hollywood’s racial stereotypes through Jim Crow were being brought into focus by the Black Press of the 1940s and 1950s! These ideas and others will be considered in a new documentary film about the impact of Black Newspaper Journalists in the era of the 1940’s.
